You can use a variety of components. The most common would be astructural welding lug or a welded beam attachment. Where welding is notpermitted you can use either beam clamps or bolted plate connections such asthe clevis plate Fig. 73 or single lug plate Fig. 74.
These beam clamp assemblies are fabricated from carbon steel with a hot-dipped galvanized finish. The clamp is designed to support a pipe that is 10″ in diameter and is capable of loads up to 3,600 lb. The rod measures 7/8″ in diameter.
The function of the beam clamp assembly is to support the pipe and allow it to swing. The clamp requires no welding which allows for a quick and easy installation.
