Hold-Down Pipe Clamps For A 20&Quot; Pipeline At A Waste Disposal Facility

These hold-down pipe clamp assemblies are specially fabricated and include wedges with 25% glass-filled PTFE to absorb vibration and also serve as a buffer between the steel pipe and pipe support. Vibration can occur in Power, Solar, Biofuels, and Chemical plants because of flow-induced and/or acoustic-induced vibration due to the flow of fluids or gas/steam through the piping system. Similarly, vibration can occur in pipelines near rotating equipment such as reciprocating pumps and compressors resulting in pulsations or mechanical forces that can occur in both onshore or offshore production facilities. Vibration can be strong enough to cause premature failure or cracks resulting in unplanned shutdowns. These units shown in the photograph are custom-designed for pipe sizes up to 20″ in diameter and temperatures up to 200°F and can be adjusted to accommodate a range of heights for the T.O.S to the B.O.P. They are 21″ wide x 26″ long x 23″ high and are proven to greatly reduce vibration to acceptable levels. These hold-down pipe clamps are fabricated utilizing A 36 carbon steel plate and A 307 Gr. All-threaded rods. All components were hot-dipped galvanized and a quality control inspection was performed before shipment.

Hold-Down Pipe Clamps Designed To Limit Vibration Caused By Rotating Equipment And Avoid Damage To The Surrounding Piping System

PT&P has extensive experience involving the custom design and fabrication of hold-down pipe clamps for piping systems and skid mounted units for the power, chemical, and refineries industries throughout the world. These hold-downs are custom designed to limit vibration caused by rotating equipment and avoid damage to the surrounding piping system. They are fabricated from carbon steel with a hot-dipped galvanized coating and include PTFE slide plates to reduce the friction between the pipe and clamp, combined with fabric pads to reduce vibration dampening. The hold-downs are designed for pipelines ranging in 2” to 16” diameter. They range from 3″ wide x 9-1/8″ long to 8″ wide x 25-3/4″ long, and designed for an operating temperature of 200°F. We performed a Q.C. visual inspection prior to shipment. PT&P can custom design and fabricate hold-downs for any pipe size application. In addition to hold-downs, PT&P also offers other types of vibration control devices to accommodate different pipe orientations and locations.

47 Hold-Down Pipe Clamps Designed For A Coal Fired Power Plant

PT&P designed and fabricated forty-seven hold-down pipe clamps for a coal fired power plant in Louisiana. The hold-downs are fabricated from carbon steel and range in size from 2″ to 10″ in diameter. The HD-3 is an arrestor type hold down used when there is very low thermal movement. Its radius is lined with a belting material that is well designed to absorb shock from vibration.
