PT&P custom designed insulated sliding pipe shoes for HVAC service at a semiconductor manufacturing facility. The shoes are fabricated from A36 carbon steel and hot-dipped galvanized for corrosion resistance, and include insulating material consisting of high-density calcium silicate. The insulated sliding shoes are designed for a 78″ pipe size with overall dimensions of 12” L x 90” H x 85” D to accommodate +/- 3″ axial and +/- 1 lateral movement at a pipeline temperature of 200°F. This design can accommodate operating loads of 88,000 lb. with each shoe weighing approximately 1,200 lb. Pipe Shields, Inc., a division of PT&P custom designed insulated pipe supports for high-temperatures in a chemical plant. The “hot shoes” are fabricated from A36 carbon steel and include a hot-dipped galvanized finish. They range in nominal pipe size from 1” to 3” and include 1”-2” thick calcium silicate insulation. The supports are designed for an operating temperature up to 1200°F and operating loads up to 1000 lb, with +/- 4 -1/2 movement. Quality control inspections were performed before shipping to Indiana.

PT&P custom designed pre-insulated sliding pipe shoes with FRP lining for high-temperature pipelines in Ohio. The “hot shoes” are 15” long, range in diameter from 1-1/2” to 3” and are designed for a B.O.P. of 4”. The shoes are designed with Firetemp® insulation for temperatures up to 1800°F. The supports are fabricated from carbon steel with a hot-dipped galvanized finish and include stainless on polyethylene slide plates. A visual inspection was performed prior to shipping.

Piping Technology & Products, Inc. recently designed and manufactured pre-insulated pipe supports for a high-temperature pipeline at a refinery in Louisiana. The “hot shoes” are 16” diameter, include 4” of insulation and are 18” in length. They are fabricated from A240 Gr 304 L stainless steel and the insulation is Firetemp®. These hot shoes are custom designed to support loads from 25,000 lb. to 50,000 lb. at an operating temperature of 1,800°F. Standard tests were performed for a three-week rush job.

PT&P manufactured 48” diameter pre-insulated pipe supports for a high temperature pipeline at a phenol plant in Texas. These hot shoes are designed for pipe sizes up to 48” in diameter. They include 6” thick by 4” width calcium silicate insulation, hot-dipped galvanized steel, and are designed for a load of 7,000 lb. This order consisted of six different types of supports such as variable assemblies, constant support assemblies, sway struts, and pre-insulated pipe supports. Standard quality tests were performed prior to shipment.

High Temperature Insulated Supports for an HP Steam Header

Piping Technology & Products custom designed and fabricated pre-insulated pipe supports for high temperature application in an HP Steam Header located in Texas. These hot shoes range in size from 2″ to 12″ in diameter and are 12″, 15″ and 18″ long, with BOP of 4″ and 6″. The supports include a thin blanket insulation. The trunnion assembly is resting on a high compressive strength insulation material. These supports are designed for temperatures up to 844°F with an operating load of 17,965 lb. at 732 psig. A total of 95 supports were manufactured for this project, including pipe hangers, pipe shoes with insulation and trunnion supports, as well as pipe shoe clamps without insulation. All supports were inspected by Q.C. and the insulated supports underwent a simulation on ANSYS.

PT&P custom designed 98 insulated pipe supports for an ammonia project at a chemical plant in Louisiana. The supports were designed for cryogenic and high temperature pipe systems, with a 8″ to 22″ baseplate width and 10″ to 28″ saddle length. They were designed for pipe diameters of 6″-24″ and are comprised of polyurethane foam for cryogenic and FTM insulation for high temperatures. Standard Q.C. and dimensional tests were performed prior to shipment.

Pipe Shields/PT&P designed and manufactured pre-insulated pipe shoes for a 54″ diameter pipeline in a chemical processing plant in Texas. The hot shoes are custom designed with a wide base to accommodate lateral movement and axial movements of +/- 4 1/2″. We designed the hot shoes to include additional bolting along with bolting torque recommendations order to help prevent slippage of the pipe inside the pipe shoe. We designed the supports to accommodate vertical loads up to 22,200 lb. and temperatures up to 1800°F. The outer part of the shoe was manufactured of hot-dipped galvanized carbon steel while the inner insulation material is 4″ thick high density calcium silicate insulation.

Pre-Insulated Pipe Supports Designed for High Temperatures in a Power Plant

Piping Technology designed hot shoes with sliding bases for a power plant in Mississippi. The assemblies will be installed on 28″ diameter pipe and include 1-1/2″ thick calcium silicate insulation. Manufacturing fabricated these supports from galvanized carbon steel with a polyethylene base. They are capable of an operating load of 7,200 lb., temperatures up to 1,200 degrees F and an axial movement of +/- 4-1/2″. The shipment was met three days prior to the critical field need date.

Pipe Shields Inc., a division of PT&P, manufactured 215 heavy duty pre-insulated supports for a high temperature application in Oregon. They are 15″ L x 20″ W x 31″ H and are designed to accommodate 14″ – 20″ diameter pipes. The hot shoes have a calcium silicate insulation thickness of 2.5″- 3″. The base, clamps, nuts, jackets and bolts are all fabricated from hot dipped galvanized carbon steel and coated with red oxide paint. Standard Q.C. and dimensional tests were performed prior shipment.

PT&P designed and fabricated heavy duty insulated pipe support anchors for a high temperature application. The base, clamps, nuts, jackets and bolts are all fabricated from hot-dipped galvanized carbon steel. The hot shoes have 3″ thick high density calcium silicate insulation, and are designed for 12″-42″ diameter pipes. The dimensions are 47″ L X 51″ W X 16″ H. Standard Q.C. and dimensional tests were performed prior to an expedited shipment.

3 Week Turnaround on 274 Custom Designed Hot Shoes

We provided a quantity of 274 custom designed hot shoes on an expedited basis to a factory in Arizona. While the normal delivery time on a typical order might be 6-8 weeks, Piping Technology provided these pipe shoes on a 3 week delivery time. The high temperature pipe supports include clamping material fabricated from carbon steel with a red oxide finish, a polyethylene slide base with stainless steel slide plates, high density calcium silicate insulation and an overlapping galvanized sheet metal jacket. The pipe shoes are designed to accommodate 4″-8″ pipes and have an insulation thickness of 2″-3″ and the base measures 11″ to 14″ in width, and 6″ to 15″ in length. The hot shoes are designed for temperatures ranging from 40° F to 600° F. The insulation for these supports is a combination of high density calcium silicate with high strength inserts.

Pre-Insulated Pipe Supports with 12" Thick Insulation Designed for a 49" High Temperature Line

PT&P fabricated pre-insulated pipe supports from galvanized carbon steel designed for a 49″ diameter pipe and temperatures in excess of 1600°F. The insulation is 12″ thick and composed of lime, silica and reinforcing fibers. This type of insulation features exceptional strength and extremely low water absorption. It is essentially dust-free, contains no asbestos and is a very good material for structural insulation inserts. This “hot shoe” will be used in a cat cracker unit at a refinery in Alabama.
