Sweco Fab. designed and fabricated storage tanks from 1/4″ thick ASTM A240 grade 304 stainless steel. The tanks are 42″ in diameter, 72″ in overall length and 39-7/8″ in height. The legs are fabricated from SA36 carbon steel. They are designed for 1 PSIG and ambient temperatures. The storage tanks were hydro tested and leak tested for 8 hours prior to shipment.
The ladders and platforms were designed to be installed on a 90′ tall pressure vessel. The ladders were fabricated from carbon steel and ranged in size from 5′ to 38′ in length. The vessel platforms were also fabricated from carbon steel and measure up to 16′-6″ in diameter.

This high pressure knock-out drum has a 2.5″ thick shell fabricated from ASTM SA516 Grade 70, and a SA105 and SA350 carbon steel flange. The drum has a 48″ diameter, a total length of 15’8″ and weighs over 23,000 lb. It underwent a hydro-test and design test per ASME section VIII-1 “U” stamp vessel prior to shipment.
– Diameter: 48″ O.D.
– Capacity: 1,100 Gallons
– Material Fabricated From: Carbon Steel
– Design Temperature & Pressure: 285 PSIG at 100ºF
– Testing: Hydro-Tested and held for 1/2 hour at 428 PSIG
This pressure vessel measures 84″ in length and is fabricated entirely of SA516-70 carbon steel. It is designed for low temperature environments and has a design pressure of 117 PSIG at 500ºF. A hydrostatic test was completed at 205 PSIG prior to shipment.
– 24″ Diameter Horizontal Pressure Vessel
– Repaired Welds on Flange & Shell
– 12 hr. Turn Around Time
– Hydro-Tested at 1500 PSI
– Held for 1 hr. at 80˚F
– 100% X-Ray
This pressure vessel is manufactured from carbon steel SA516-70. Its diameter is 48 by 96 tangent to tangent and weighs 2,140 lbs. The pressure vessel is used as a process feed tank and was painted for rust resistance. In addition, the vessel was designed for pressures at 15 PSIG and temperatures at 86F. Hydro-tests were conducted at 20 PSIG and x-ray tests were completed to ensure quality performance.
Sweco Fab, Inc. recently designed and fabricated a 2800 lb. pressure vessel for an oil refining company in the United Arab Emirates. This pressure vessel will be used as a dust collector to filter a process fluid for an unleaded gasoline project. The vessel, 30″ in diameter and 14′-11″ OAL, is designed for 150 PSIG and 248°F. Spot radiography, dye-penetrant, and hydrostatic tests were implemented to ensure product quality.
Sweco Fab, Inc., the ASME code fabrication shop for Piping Technology & Products, Inc., specially designed and fabricated a 108″ I.D. x 144″ T-T vessel for the Texas A&M University. The “Aggie Vessel” will be used for special research project at the university. A 24″ T-bolt closure was used for access to the vessel and two stiffner rings were installed to withstand vacuum application. Unique internal design was also applied to facilitate special equipment installation. Helium leak test at 1×10-6 cc/sec will be performed to detect leakage.
Sweco Fab, the ASME fabrication shop of Piping Technology & Products, Inc., specially designed and manufactured three steel, rubber-lined vessels for a MTBE manufacturer located in Deer Park, TX.
The carbon steel filter vessels were designed with rubber linings in order to help prevent or delay corrosion within. The vessels are 48″ diameter x 96″ s/s vertical and built to ASME. All vessels underwent hydrostatic testing in order to detect leaks (see Figure 2).
Pictured above is a deaerator built by Sweco Fab, Inc. and is destined to go into service for one of the larger chemical companies at their Plaquemine, Louisiana Fields.
The upper vessel shown is a 120” diameter 304L stainless unit connected to a 144” carbon steel storage tank of approximately 38,000 lb.
The photograph above shows a surge protection vessel fabricated to ASME code specifications by Sweco Fab, Inc. This vessel was purchased by a major Houston E&C firm for export to an overseas project.
Shown above is one of three neutralization tanks engineered and fabricated by Sweco Fab, Inc. This particular tank is being shipped to the paint contractor for painting and special interior coating.
These tanks are 12 feet in diameter, 39 feet 7 inches high, and have a storage capacity of 25,000 gallons. Special features requested by the client include clips welded on the interior for mounting of headers.
