Marinite® Slide Bearing Plates
Piping Technology & Product’s marinite® slide bearing plates are engineered as rectangular assemblies designed for reliable load support and thermal movement accommodation.
Each assembly consists of a Marinite® insulating block sandwiched between stainless steel top and bottom plates, providing both structural integrity and thermal isolation. The components are securely held together by stainless steel side plates along the length and width, forming a durable and stable unit.
This design ensures consistent performance in applications requiring low-friction movement, load distribution, and protection against heat transfer, making Marinite® slide bearing plates a dependable solution for high-temperature piping systems.
Marinite® Plates Construction
The side and end plates have 1/4″ diameter through holes to better dissipate heat and are stitch-welded to the top and bottom plates. The bottom plate is polished to have a mirror finish and is mated with a sliding surface of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) slide plate to provide a minimal coefficient of friction. The assembly is generally welded to shoes.
Marinite® Plates Application
The Marinite® insulator assembly enables the use of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as a sliding surface in applications involving high operating temperatures and dynamic loading. It acts as a thermal barrier, protecting the PTFE from excessive heat transfer. This solution has been successfully used in power plants and other high-energy systems (SHP), where both thermal resistance and low-friction performance are critical. It could potentially be used wherever there are movements at top, bottom or laterally at the point support.
