A chemical plant contacted PT&P to inspect an expansion joint in the Polymer Unit. The bellow is a thick-walled 304SS EJ measuring 36” x 25” x 6”. It was in a ducting line in a methanol process at 120F and 2 PSI. The inspection showed cracks at the corners of the bellow. PT&P recommended the existing expansion joint be repaired as the fastest and most economical option.
