Plant Maintenance & Engineering Solutions

PT&P has spent extensive time better understanding the needs of Plant Engineers and Maintenance staff. We conduct 30-50 in-person lunch-and-learns each year at various plant locations globally. PT&P used this learning to translate the common problems faced by Plant Engineering and Maintenance Personnel into the products, services, and tools to solve these problems. PT&P has the broadest and most highly engineered set of Pipe Stress solutions globally. We believe this makes us uniquely positioned to help our Plant customers with issues related to Piping and Pipe Stress.

*This section was originally developed from many discussions in the industry at various seminars, lunch and learns, webinars, and other interactions PT&P / subsidiaries have conducted or been apart of over the last 45+ years. We want to further develop this section and would greatly appreciate any feedback and suggestions that you can offer. Thank you!

The following are the key areas that PT&P has received consistent interest from Plant Engineers and Maintenance Personnel:

  • Pipe Vibration Solutions

Internal pipe flow (pulsation, two-phase, and turbulence), or external pipe flow (wind) can cause vibration in the piping system. This internal pipe flow can have the potential…

  • Galvanic Corrosion (or Contact / Cathodic Corrosion) Solutions

When two different metals come in contact with water, the base metal is transformed into an anode, which leads to accelerated corrosion of the first metal, and then the second metal…

  • Engineered Pipe Support and Expansion Joint Audit Solutions

During an audit, the main goal is to return the piping system to the original design parameters per the pipe stress model. PT&P has a database of over 1000 audits performed…

Stresses In The Pipe And Its Ring
  • Recreating Isometrics
When Isometric drawings are not available or are illegible, a 3D laser scan of the pipe is performed then used to generate new ISO’s.  These ISO’s are accurate up to 3mm, which is useful when comparing construction plans to the “as-built” drawings, as well as when comparing a running unit to a unit that is shut down.  Recreated Isometrics generated from a 3D scan can also be used to perform a stress analysis.
