Piping Technology & Products, Inc. designed and manufactured 44 shoes consisting of six guided and axial hot shoes, 10 guided hot shoes, and 28 sliding hot shoes. The materials used were calcium silicate, Marinite®, stainless steel plates, and PTFE, 25% glass filled. These shoes were designed for 8″ pipe with 7″ insulation with a load capacity of 5,100 lbs.
This 6′ x 13 ½’ pipe support structure is made of carbon steel and also includes beams, plates, and angles. Several of these structures were made for sites in Texas that convert landfill gas to energy.

These 42 13/16″ x 79 5/8″ constants have a double suspension and are made from A36 carbon steel. They will each hold a total of 70,000 lbs. and are designed to move 8½ in. down. Our report generating testing was conducted after the correct load was set.

The saddles are comprised of bolt clamps, structural steel and vinyl pipe shields. They were built for bare pipes ranging in size from 2 24 and can accommodate temperatures from 29 degrees C. to 538 degrees C.

Piping Technology & Products, Inc. recently designed and manufactured two strap assemblies for a chemical plant in Texas.
These 24′ x 8 straps are comprised of A516-70 plates, struts, pipe clamps, SCHXS and SCH160 pipe, and fabricated turnbuckles. This job was completed within two weeks to meet the customer’s quick turnaround requirements.
Piping Technology & Products, Inc. designed and manufactured 60 Marinite® hot shoes for a chemical plant in Texas.
These hot shoes are composed of Marinite®(high-density calcium silicate) and carbon steel. They were made for 8 NPS with 7 insulation. These shoes are used on steam lines, effluent lines, and any other process lines where it’s imperative that thermal energy is not lost through the pipe support. Tests were performed to show outer skin temperature at operating conditions.
None of the clamps manufactured by Piping Technology are designed forholding two sections of pipes together.
The specific temperature at which personnel protection equipment isrequired would be site specific. The average temperature where protectivemeasures would be incorporated would be about + 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
Piping Technology & Products, Inc. designed and manufactured 4 identical Big Ton springs for a petrochemical plant in Texas.
These 66 x 18 x 14.5 Big Ton springs are made of A-36 carbon steel and have a design suitable for temperatures up to 750 degrees F. They have a hot load capacity of 116,500 lbs and a cold load capacity of 94,500 lbs. Load tests were performed to ensure that the springs could safely sustain the specified design load. Applicable travel was ½ downward, but design travel ranges up to 6.
Piping Technology & Products recently designed and manufactured three hydraulic snubbers for a construction site in Louisiana.
These snubbers, with an operating load of 3500 lbs., are 2.5 x 6 and allow for 4 of total travel distance. The lock-up velocity test was performed on these snubbers to make sure that at high rates of loading, especially impact, the snubber would provide very high resistance to movement. And, the drag test was performed to make sure that at low speeds they provide very low resistance to movement.
Piping Technology & Products, Inc. designed and manufactured carbon steel and alloy stanchions for a power center in Arizona. PT&P also produced carbon steel beams for the project.
These stanchions are made to fit Extra Strong and Standard pipes, which are 3-12 in size. Figure 1 shows the stanchions and beams for this job before they were coated with a green primer and prepared for shipment.
Piping Technology & Products, Inc. designed and manufactured 250 variable sized cold shoes for a chemical plant in Texas.
These cold shoes are designed for cryogenic (low temperature) pipelines where direct contact with the pipe cannot be made. These shoes come with two pieces, top and bottom, and are made of polyurethane foam. They are then wrapped in vapor barriers, covered with a protective shield and placed in a pipe saddle.
Piping Technology & Products, Inc. designed and manufactured variable spring supports for a refinery in Forney, Texas.
The spring supports are made of carbon steel and have a length by casing diameter range from 9-3/16 by 8-5/8 to 53-11/16 by 12 ¾. In order to insure the quality of the springs, compression tests were used with a load capacity of 21,500 pounds.
Sweco Fab, Inc. designed and manufactured pig launchers and receivers for an oil and gas exploration and production company in Venezuela.
The launchers and receivers are designed with a 6 line and 8 barrel at 60 long with a 4 kicker, ¾ in. P.I., 2 vent and drain design per ASME B31.4. They are made to withstand 1480 PSIG at 100ºF and can accommodate 15 pigs. They were painted inside and out per System 6E grey color and included simple skid, MTR, N.D.E., and flange protectors.

Piping Technology & Products, Inc. designed and manufactured PTFE, 25% glass filled, slide plates for a chemical plant in Port Arthur, Texas.
These slide plates are constructed of PTFE, 25% glass filled, bonded to stainless steel backing plates. The top plates range from 123 ¾ square inches to 481 ¾ square inches and the bottom plates range from 69 square inches to 616 square inches.

Piping Technology & Products, Inc. designed and manufactured saddles for a power project in California.
The saddles were built for 12″, 24″ and 30″ pipe and the loads varied from 1,500 pounds to a maximum design load of 20,000 pounds. The saddle and its components will hang from a beam in the field by spring hangers to complete what is known as a “trapeze” pipe hanger assembly. In order to prevent movement, the supported pipes will be secured to the curved portion of the saddle with u-bolts.
Piping Technology & Products, Inc. specially designed and fabricated big ton springs equipped with special rollers to accommodate moving apparatus and support piping at a refinery in India.
The specially designed big tons were made to support loads ranging from 55,000 lbs. to 114,000 lbs with no more than 5/16″ upward movement. Its composition comprises of A-36 carbon steel, built to a maximum height of 23-5/8″.
The special rollers installed on the top of the load flange, keeps the aforementioned loads moving smoothly under all kinds of conditions. To further assure their quality, each of the big ton spring assemblies underwent load testing and afterward were hot dipped galvanized to prevent against corrosion.

Sweco Fab, Inc. recently designed and manufactured sludge tank vent ducts for a development project in Chad, Africa.
Due to the thin wall and height of the cylinder shell it was required to add a stiffing ring between the cylinder shell and flange. Each duct was 12 ¼” I.D. x 104 7/8″ high and weighed approximately 96 pounds. They were painted inside and out per System 6E grey color.

Piping Technology & Products manufactured 2″ hold down clamps (figure HD-1) for an engineering and construction company.
The figure HD-1 is PT&P’s anchor type hold down and is usually used on pipe lines where little or no insulation is required. These hold down clamps were constructed of SA36 carbon steel for temperatures to 750ºF.
