PERU Custom Embed Plates – Four Gold Mines, Cajamarca

PT&P designed and manufactured 150 carbon steel embed plates ( 93″ × 27″ × 1″ ) totaling approximately 80,000 lbs of steel and anchors. Each plate was engineered for the structural demands of mineshaft reclaim tunnel feed openings and delivered for immediate installation across all four sites simultaneously.

US Bellows engineered and fabricated a universal rectangular expansion joint for a mining operation in the Chilean Andes, COR-TEN steel bellows selected specifically for corrosion resistance in that environment. 73-1/4″ × 52″ × 96″, 2,700 lbs. 100% dye penetrant tested. Abrasive slurry media degrading expansion joints and supporting – Mining slurries act like sandpaper on piping components. We specify materials, geometries, and joint configurations engineered specifically for abrasive media, not repurposed from clean-service applications.

Thermal expansion in high-temperature steam and process piping – Gold and mineral processing facilities run steam piping at temperatures above 650°F. Without correctly engineered pipe shoes and expansion joints, that thermal movement transfers as stress into connected equipment, causing premature failure in locations where repair is costly and slow.

Corrosion in outdoor and chemically aggressive environments – Mountain sites, open-air facilities, and process chemical exposure all attack carbon steel. We select coating systems, materials, and protective configurations based on the actual operating environment of your site, not a default specification.

Structural loads on large-diameter process piping – Heavy mineral processing lines generate dead loads that require purpose-built structural support. We design and fabricate embed plates, pipe racks, and structural assemblies that withstand long-term loads without settlement or fatigue.

Custom elevation requirements on sloping and uneven terrain – Mine sites in mountainous terrain require pipe supports at variable heights to maintain pipeline elevation across a grade. Standard off-the-shelf shoes don’t solve this. We fabricate custom assemblies engineered to each support location.
