36” Dia. Cryogenic Pipe Saddles Designed For A Lng Facility

36” Dia. Cryogenic Pipe Saddles Designed for an LNG Facility

PT&P custom-designed pipe saddles with micarta base insulation for an LNG facility in Australia. The saddles were fabricated from 304L stainless steel plates with thickness ranging from 1/8″ to 3/8″. The micarta blocks range in thickness from 1/4″-3″. The saddles were designed to support pipes up to 36″ in diameter at an operating temperature of -300°F. Standard Q.C. and dimensional tests were performed prior to shipment.

A pipe saddle is any pipe support that cradles a pipe and transfers the pipe’s load weight onto a supporting base. Much like a saddle on a horse supports a rider and keeps them from bouncing on the animal, pipe saddles support a pipe’s weight. Pipe saddles are commonly used on large-diameter piping where the load is exceptionally heavy or when contraction-expansion movement is expected. Pipe saddles are welded to the pipe and are used in conjunction with roller supports or on-beam supports.

With the current uptick in global LNG demand driving US-based LNG production, Piping Technology and its subsidiaries are well-positioned to support large-scale projects in a timely manner. Our engineering and production teams work closely with our clients to ensure site, operator, and design needs are met. LNG demand is positioned to continue to grow over 60% by 2035.

Clamped Pipe Shoes Custom-Designed For An Offshore Vessel Project

These special clamped pipe shoes with isolators were supplied for an offshore vessel project. Offshore renewable energy companies are exploring the viability of developing an offshore charging facility for electrified vessels and using ammonia-powered or hydrogen-powered fuel cells to power marine vessels. As the world’s only major Expansion Joints and Engineered Pipe Supports manufacturer, we are uniquely positioned to service various piping needs. The 210 pipe shoes were fabricated from carbon steel for pipe sizes ranging from 1″ to 24″ in diameter. They are supplied with a hot-dipped galvanized finish for corrosion resistance and range in length from 8″ to 16″ with 4″ from the BOP. These pipe shoes include a dampening isolator in between the pipe and the shoe to reduce vibration and noise. The isolator pad is typically made of a “rubber bonded cork elastomeric” which can be designed to suit the application for temperature and other system needs as specified.

1,485 supports were supplied for this order, including these pipe shoes. At Piping Technology and Products, we supply products to facilities that are helping to reduce carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.

230 Chromoly Pipe Shoes & Clamps for a Natural Gas-Fed Ammonia Plant

September 27, 2021

230 Chromoly Pipe Shoes &Amp; Clamps Custom-Designed For Service At A Natural Gas-Fed Ammonia Plant

PT&P custom-designed 230 Chromoly pipe shoes & clamps for service at a natural gas-fed ammonia plant. The pipe shoes are designed for 1″ to 42″ diameter pipelines and coated with red epoxy for high temperatures (above 750°F). Each pipe shoe design utilizes custom two-bolt pipe clamps manufactured from 387 GR. 11 CL 2 material. This design is especially useful when welding to the process pipe is prohibited. These shoes clamp around the pipe instead of welding to the pipe in order to support a given load. Special bolting is required for high temperatures utilizing A 193 GR. B16 bolting material. Quality assurance inspection was conducted prior to shipment.

Hold-Down Clamps for a Waste Disposal Facility

Hold-Down Pipe Clamps For A 20&Quot; Pipeline At A Waste Disposal Facility

These hold-down pipe clamp assemblies are specially fabricated and include wedges with 25% glass-filled PTFE to absorb vibration and also serve as a buffer between the steel pipe and pipe support. Vibration can occur in Power, Solar, Biofuels, and Chemical plants because of flow-induced and/or acoustic-induced vibration due to the flow of fluids or gas/steam through the piping system. Similarly, vibration can occur in pipelines near rotating equipment such as reciprocating pumps and compressors resulting in pulsations or mechanical forces that can occur in both onshore or offshore production facilities. Vibration can be strong enough to cause premature failure or cracks resulting in unplanned shutdowns. These units shown in the photograph are custom-designed for pipe sizes up to 20″ in diameter and temperatures up to 200°F and can be adjusted to accommodate a range of heights for the T.O.S to the B.O.P. They are 21″ wide x 26″ long x 23″ high and are proven to greatly reduce vibration to acceptable levels. These hold-down pipe clamps are fabricated utilizing A 36 carbon steel plate and A 307 Gr. All-threaded rods. All components were hot-dipped galvanized and a quality control inspection was performed before shipment.

Hold-Down Pipe Clamps Designed To Limit Vibration Caused By Rotating Equipment And Avoid Damage To The Surrounding Piping System

PT&P has extensive experience involving the custom design and fabrication of hold-down pipe clamps for piping systems and skid mounted units for the power, chemical, and refineries industries throughout the world. These hold-downs are custom designed to limit vibration caused by rotating equipment and avoid damage to the surrounding piping system. They are fabricated from carbon steel with a hot-dipped galvanized coating and include PTFE slide plates to reduce the friction between the pipe and clamp, combined with fabric pads to reduce vibration dampening. The hold-downs are designed for pipelines ranging in 2” to 16” diameter. They range from 3″ wide x 9-1/8″ long to 8″ wide x 25-3/4″ long, and designed for an operating temperature of 200°F. We performed a Q.C. visual inspection prior to shipment. PT&P can custom design and fabricate hold-downs for any pipe size application. In addition to hold-downs, PT&P also offers other types of vibration control devices to accommodate different pipe orientations and locations.
