27' x 16' x 21' Structural Frame for an Offshore Site

PT&P custom designed and fabricated a 27′ x 16′ x 21′ structural frame to be placed on the sea-bed for an offshore rig. This assembly will be used as an undersea cable support frame, capable of withstanding a load of 600 Kilonewtons (68,000 lbs for each pad). It is constructed of 8 tube-steel, a 10 channel, and a steel plate. The frame will remain stationary on the sea-bed and is designed to endure heavy wave action when lowered to or raised from the sea-bed.

Finite element analysis of the lifting lug on the structure was performed to verify load conditions. A trial fit-up of bolted sections was also conducted to ensure the structural frame will assemble easily before being placed in position.

Spray Nozzle Assemblies for a Special Pressure Application

Sweco Fab. Inc. recently manufactured 16 injection spray nozzle assemblies from INCO 625 material for a specific pressure application. Each nozzle is made up of a 1½ S/160 pipe. The quill construction is clog proof and utilizes the turbulence created by its unique design to achieve distribution of the injected liquid into the product flow.

Rotary Valve for a Manufacturing Facility

Sweco Fab, Inc. recently fabricated a M-1318 Rotary Valve Assembly composed of a stainless steel hopper, double reduction gear, drive cover, and a sprocket & chain drive. The valve is powered by a 1/2 hp, 3 phase electric motor. This particular piece will be used in a plastic processing company. Rotary valves can be fabricated in different assembly formations and can be altered based upon customer needs.

150 PSIG Heat Exchanger for a Chemical Process Research Lab

Sweco Fab., Inc. recently designed and manufactured a 1 1/2″ diameter heat exchanger for a chemical process research laboratory. This Heat Exchanger is fabricated from stainless steel, grade 316L, with a maximum allowable working pressure of 150 PSIG at 250°F. It was hydro-tested at 185 PSIG. Heat exchangers are widely used in refineries for multiple applications. Sweco Fab, Inc. can design and fabricate heat exchangers in different sizes and materials as per customer needs.

58 Large Diameter Floating Rings for a Refinery in Saudi Arabia

Sweco Fab, Inc. recently designed and fabricated 58 floating rings for a Refinery in Saudi Arabia. Ranging from 40″- 155″ in diameter and 12″- 18″ in height, these rings weigh more than 1,500 lbs. each and are made from SA240-316H stainless steel plate with thickness of 1/2″ – 1 1/2″. All rings are fabricated by Full Penetration Weld and examined by dye penetration test.

Pig Launchers and Receivers for Venezuela

Sweco Fab, Inc. designed and manufactured pig launchers and receivers for an oil and gas exploration and production company in Venezuela.

The launchers and receivers are designed with a 6 line and 8 barrel at 60 long with a 4 kicker, ¾ in. P.I., 2 vent and drain design per ASME B31.4. They are made to withstand 1480 PSIG at 100ºF and can accommodate 15 pigs. They were painted inside and out per System 6E grey color and included simple skid, MTR, N.D.E., and flange protectors.

Sludge Tank Vent Ducts

Sweco Fab, Inc. recently designed and manufactured sludge tank vent ducts for a development project in Chad, Africa.

Due to the thin wall and height of the cylinder shell it was required to add a stiffing ring between the cylinder shell and flange. Each duct was 12 ¼” I.D. x 104 7/8″ high and weighed approximately 96 pounds. They were painted inside and out per System 6E grey color.

Sweco Fab, Inc. manufactured 4″ pig launchers and receivers for a water reclamation plant in Savage, Maryland.

These launchers and receivers are to aid in the utilization of an oxidation ditch activated sludge process designed for nitrification / de-nitrification and phosphorous removal. The design consists of components such as T-bolt closures, side outlet tees and 4″, 150-psi flanges with protectors. After being built to ASME, Sect. VIII, Div. 1, the launchers and receivers were shop prime painted to prevent against corrosion.
