Variable Spring Supports Designed for a Furnace in Trinidad

Type: F-Type Variable Spring Supports (Furnace Springs)
Material: Carbon Steel | Red Oxide Primer
Design: Movement: 1/2 “| Load: 398 lb. | Spring Rate: 84 lb./in.
Testing: Standard Spring Rate & Calibration Tests

PT&P designed and manufactured these F-Type variable spring supports for use in a furnace at a facility in Trinidad. We manufactured these furnace springs for an operating load of 398 lb., a movement up to 1/2″, and a springs rate of 84 lb./in. They are fabricated from carbon steel with a red oxide primer coating to protect against corrosion. Customer specifications required a modified, installed height, while maintaining the spring rate, operating load and install load. In order to accomplish this, PT&P designed, manufactured and attached, to each spring, a pedestal to accomplish the increased installed height.

Big Ton Spring Supports Designed for a Liquid Natural Gas Facility in Australia

Type: Big Ton Spring Supports
Size: 19-5/8″ x 19-5/8″ x 15″
Material: Hot-dipped Galvanized Carbon Steel | A193 Gr. B7
Design: Movements: 3/16 ” – 1/4″ | 16,619 lb. Load
Testing: Load Cell throughout Operating Range

These big ton spring supports were designed for a liquid natural gas (LNG) plant in Australia. They were selected because the application required supporting heavy loads as the supported equipment undergoes thermal expansion during operation. The assemblies are fabricated from hot-dipped galvanized carbon steel. The travel stop rods and nuts material is A193 Gr. B7. The units measure 19-5/8″ x 19-5/8″ x 15″ and are capable of supporting loads up to 13,619 lb. while accommodating movements from 3/16″ to 1/4″. The big tons were tested with a load cell to insure proper operation throughout the big ton’s operating range.
