Constant Assemblies Custom-Designed For Hot Service At A Leading Plastic Manufacturing Plant In North Carolina

Type: Custom-Designed Constant Spring Supports
Size: PTP-100 B-Type | 16” x 24” x 30”
Material: A36 Carbon Steel | Hot-dipped Galvanized| Epoxy Coating
Design: Load Range: 2,280 lb. to 7,143 lb. | 2″ Total Travel
Testing: Q.C. Inspection | Load and Travel Tests

PT&P custom-designed Constant Spring Support with travel stop adjustment rods for a manufacturing company. We “re-created” the design of constants sold years ago by our now sister company, Fronek Anchor/Darling. The constants needed to fit the “envelope” or space of the original constants sold to this client for an application in an existing plant. The constants were fabricated from A36 carbon steel, hot-dipped galvanized, and painted with an epoxy coating. The assemblies are designed for an operating load ranging from 2,280 lb. to 7,143 lb. with 2″ of total travel. Standard load and travel test and Q.C. inspections were completed prior to shipment to North Carolina.

We have a great deal of experience manufacturing constant spring supports similar to that of existing constants if needed to fit existing space limitations. We can also refurbish constants manufactured by competitors if the units are repairable. So whether the constants are for large duct systems in power and refining plants or focused around renewable, carbon-neutral plants, we can assist our clients to find a cost-effective solution.

Field Services was called out to consult on how to properly support a high temperature line with extreme movement at a coal refinery.

Clamp on pipe shoe was replaced 60 feet off the ground on a critical line at a LNG plant in Florida.

A Texas chemical plant sent us their old expansion joint to be replaced with a new one reusing the existing flanges for ease of installation.

A local refinery asked for our help to size and replace another manufacturer’s failed spring hanger for a PTP equivalent in under 24 hours.

An Oklahoma Coal Power Plant contracted Field Services to install a few 54,000 lb capacity Constant Spring hangers 250 feet up on the unit where a crane could only get so close.

A proactive pipe support inspection was done before a major turnaround in Illinois, which saved them from a few major issues.

After a hurricane in Southern Louisiana, a few of our snubbers were inspected for fluid leaks and visible damage, all passed.

This Field Engineer collected information from a coal dust covered tag so that he could replace it with a PTP equivalent.

Bronzphite® Slide Plate Assemblies Designed for an Oil Refinery in Canada

Bronzphite® Slide Plate Assemblies Designed For An Oil Refinery In Canada

Type: Bronzphite® Slide Plate Assemblies
Size: 1/2” x 4” x 4” | 1/2” x 7-1/2” x 7-1/2”.
Design: 1100°F Operating Temperature | 5000 PSI Load
Material: HDG Carbon Steel | Bronzphite®
Testing: Visual & Dimensional Tests

Piping Technology & Products, Inc. manufactured Bronzphite® slide plate assemblies for an oil refinery in Canada. The Bronzphite® is used as the lower slide plate bearing surface and measures 1/2″ x 4″ x 4″, and the carbon steel backing plates are 1/2″ x 7-1/2″ x 7-1/2″. The upper slide plate material is polished stainless steel. Bronzphite consists of a bronze plate that utilizes graphite inserts. Bronze is used because of its hardness and load-carrying abilities. The graphite “crumbles” when the load or weight of the equipment is placed on top of the slide plate assembly. This produces a thin film of graphite which acts as an oil-free lubricant between the lower bronze slide plate and upper stainless steel slide plate. The graphite greatly reduces friction between the two surfaces. The assembly is designed for an operating temperature of up to 1100°F, with an operating load of up to 5,000 PSI. Standard visual and dimensional tests were performed prior to a two-week delivery.

Piping Technology & Products and its subsidiaries are poised and ready to meet your project needs in their entirety. We design and build slide plates and an extensive range of additional products. We offer the largest and most comprehensive offering of products and services globally with US-based manufacturing for all your piping system considerations.
