Cryogenic Supports With Micarta® Insulation For A Lng Facility In Australia

Type:  Insulated Pipe Supports “Cold Shoes”
Material:  CS | 304L SS | Micarta® Insulation
Size Ranges:  12-18″ L | 6-15″ W | 6-40″ H | 8-24″ Dia.
Design:  -320°F | Testing: PMI | Q.C. | MTR’s Provided

PT&P custom designed insulated supports for a cryogenic pipeline at an LNG facility in Australia. They are fabricated with 304L stainless steel plates and Micarta® G-10 insulation. Micarta® is designed to prevent LNG temperatures of -320°F from transferring to the base and surrounding pipe rack steel. The base plates are fabricated from carbon steel. These pipe saddles are designed to support pipes with dimensions ranging from 12″-18″ in length, 6″-15″ in width and 6″-40″ in height. The nominal pipe size range is 8″-24″ diameter. MTR’s were provided and non-destructive testing (PMI) was performed, along with standard Q.C. inspection prior to shipment.

As a key partner for many LNG projects globally, a number of our designs and products have been installed in various parts of the LNG facilities. They include:

  • Bird Screen
  • Constant Assemblies
  • FEA/Engineering Services
  • Expansion Joints Metal Bellows
  • Fabricated pipe shoes, guides, anchors
  • Field Services
  • Flanges, Strainers, paddle blinds, bleed rings
  • Hold-down clamps
  • Misc. Steel fabrication
  • Orifice plates
  • Pipe Hanger Hardware
  • Restriction orifice plates
  • Slide bearing plates
  • Snubbers/Sway braces/Sway struts
  • Spray Nozzles
  • Varibales Assemblies
  • Wear Pads
  • Troughs and Shrouds
  • Instrument spports
  • Portable Hinges/Manways

The current LNG production climate has had significant growth driven by increasing global demand for cleaner energy sources. Major LNG-producing countries, such as the United States, Australia, and Qatar, continue to invest in expanding their liquefaction capacity to meet this rising demand. Advancements in technology and innovation improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of LNG production. We have been a part of these efforts because of our breadth and depth of experience in LNG. Most recently we completed design, manufacture, and delivery of over 200 LNG troughs over 40 feet long to meet the newly established FERC requirements around spillage.

Custom Designed U-Type Constant Spring Supports For An Oil Refinery In Texas

Type: Constant Spring Supports
Material: Carbon Steel w/ HDG Finish
Design: 4,000 lb. Load | 3 1/2″-9 1/2″ Vertical
Testing: Load and Travel Tests

PT&P custom designed and manufactured ten 200 U-Type constant spring supports with slide plates for an Oil Refinery in Texas. They are fabricated from A36 carbon steel with an HDG finish for plates, angles, and cans. Its dimensions are 31" in height and 52" in length with 19" in width. They are designed for a movement of 3 ½" up to 9 ½" and an operating load of 1100 lbs up to 4800 lbs. They were custom-designed to match the box dimensions of a competitor. The units had a Standard Load Test performed prior to shipment.

Constant springs are sometimes installed near rotating equipment such as pumps and compressors used in manufacturing, mining operations, utilities, oil and gas extraction, and cross-country pipelines. By providing constant support to piping leading to rotating equipment subject to both vertical and horizontal movement, these types of spring hangers help to decrease stresses imposed on rotating equipment, thereby extending the life of the bearings and seals within these units.

For this application, our constants were designed and manufactured with carbon steel; however, depending on application requirements, such as a furnace, we can also provide constant spring supports utilizing stainless steel material, which accommodates high temperatures and corrosive environments. We created the world’s smallest constant spring support. Our nano constant is ideal for such applications:

Compact Spring Supports Designed for a Heat Exchanger at a Large Oil Refinery

Compact Spring Supports Designed For A Heat Exchanger At A Large Oil Refinery

These compact spring supports were custom-designed to support a heat exchanger at an oil refinery. They were designed to support loads up to 12,000 lb. and a movement of 0.039", with space limitations of 3"in height. These compact springs are fabricated from carbon steel and utilize engineered Belleville (disc spring) washers. 25% glass-filled (PTFE) slide plates are bonded to the top of the load flange and provide a low coefficient of friction. The DST Compact Spring Support is specifically designed to relieve excess loading on process equipment. Benefits: Minimizes excessive loads on sensitive equipment, same load for smaller working range (25-50% less space), ideal for locating under equipment flanges & reduces design time, maintenance cost and accidents.
