The hot shoes are fabricated from A-36 carbon steel with 304 stainless steel slide plates. The 18″ dia. hot shoe has a maximum vertical load of 5500 lb. and the 24″ dia. hot shoe is capable of loads up to 13,750 lb. All the supports in this project are designed for temperatures of up to 1200°F. In addition to the insulation, these supports are capable of sliding axially or laterally as part of the piping system.

The Compact Spring Support Presentation was presented by DST and covered key objectives, background and leading industry problems related to process equipment nozzels (both rotating and non-rotating equipment). It reviewed the challenges involved in design and analysis of piping with respect to process equipment nozzles. This presentation also discussed the types of chronic problems and failures related to process equipment nozzles and present (or introduce) the Compact Spring Support as a solution. During the presentation, the DST team explained why chronic problems with process equipment exist, describing current design practices as they relate to industry code standards and how the Compact Spring Support addresses these problems directly and effectively. It also took a quick look at DST technical data and sizing program.
