48” Dia. Cryogenic Pipe Supports Designed For A Light Hydrocarbon Production Facility

PT&P custom designed pre-insulated pipe supports with polyurethane insulation for cryogenic temperatures in a light hydrocarbon production facility in Texas. A total of 59 cold shoes were fabricated from A36 carbon steel with a hot-dipped galvanized finish. The cold shoe assemblies range in diameter from 24″-48″ and were designed to support loads ranging from 17,000 to 31,000 lb. Standard Q.C. and dimensional tests were performed prior to shipment.

Pre-Insulated Pipe Supports

This presentation will cover Pre-Insulated Pipe Supports, including pipe insulation products for both cryogenic and heat applications. Learn about the different types of insulation materials and get the inside scoop on our cold shoe design. Explore how Polyurethane foam is produced, from mixing polyols and isocyanates to inspecting the final product. Learn about anchor shoe testing, lateral load testing, compressive strength testing, and axial load testing.

The featured presenter, David Baker has over 12 years experience with pre-insulated pipe supports, on-site surveys, inspections, Installation and Maintenance. He is also the manager of PT&P’s Field Service division and our in-house consultant for pre-insulated pipe supports.

Custom Designed Sway Struts For A Chemical Plant In Texas

PT&P custom designed sway struts for a chemical plant located in Texas. The sway struts and rod hangers are both fabricated from carbon steel. The overall length of the support assemblies’ range from 31″ to 83″ and are capable of supporting loads up to 1,750 lb., with an operating temperature of 1100°F and 1 1/2″ of vertical movement. The sway struts are designed to restrain movement in one direction while providing movement due to thermal expansion or contraction in another direction.

Stainless Steel Roller Stands Custom Designed For A Wastewater Treatment Plant

PT&P designed spring loaded stainless steel roller stands for a wastewater treatment plant. The rollers were custom designed for ease of assembly to support a 30″ diameter pipeline. They include eight springs in two spring housings and are designed for 1,000 lb. load. The base plate is 18-3/4″ x 13″ and the BOP is 10-3/16″. Roller stands are used to support pipelines that expand and contract longitudinally in the axial direction and where vertical adjustment is not necessary.

F-Type Variable Spring Supports Designed for a Chemical Processing Plant

F-Type Variable Spring Supports Designed For A Chemical Processing

PT&P manufactured F-type variable spring supports for a chemical processing plant in Texas. The variables are designed with an internal guide and for a movement of 0.09″. They are designed for a 5,350 lb. cold load and 5,450 lb. hot load. Because these springs had to be capable of withstanding a hydro-test in excess of 33,000 lb. (which substantially exceeded the standard maximum hydro-test of 18,000 lb.), special collars were used in conjunction with the standard travel stops. These collars are designed to absorb the large hydro load by relying on the high strength characteristics of the load flange and housing components of the assembly while essentially bypassing the threaded internal components.

Constant Spring Supports Designed For A Steam Methane Reformer
PT&P manufactured Fig. PTP 100-E constant spring supports for a steam methane reformer plant project in Thailand. The constant springs are designed for a pipe operating temperature from 650°F to 1250°F and an operating load of 3,355 lb. with a movement of 13″ upward. The constants are fabricated from carbon steel and painted with an epoxy for high temperatures. Standard load and travel test were completed prior to shipment.
