Anchor Bolts for Boiler Feed Water Pump Turbine Drives
These are special high-strength anchor bolts used in a coal-fired power plant to secure the water pumps’ foundation. They range from 1” to 3 1/2” in diameter and 137” in length. The actual bolts are made from ASTM low Alloy Steel F1554-04, grade 55. This steel has a tensile strength of 517-655 Mpa, (75-95 Ksi), and a yield strength of 380 Mpa, (55 Ksi). The nuts are made from ASTM A563, grade A, and the washers from ASTM F436, Type 1. The bolts are threaded per UNC threading, class 2A fit, and the finish is plain.

80ft. wide Cantilevered Canopy for an International Project
Piping Technology & Products, Inc. fabricated a cantilevered canopy for the entrance of an International State Department building. The canopy was fabricated using ten 20-foot-long girders. These girders were connected by sixty-three structural steel members. Together, they formed the 80-foot width of the canopy. The wooden sheathing and architectural cladding that is supported by the canopy’s inner steel structure were installed at the construction site.
The fabricated girders and structural members combined weight exceeds 33,000 lb.
Piping Technology & Products also supplied the steel framing that supports the sheathing and cladding, roof drains and piping installed inside the canopy.

Structural Pipe Hangers for a Pipe Seismic Restraint ProjectClose-Up View of MegaLug
Piping Technology & Products, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, Pipe Shields, Inc. designed and fabricated many structural pipe hangers for an on-going project to rebuild the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The pipe hangers are made out of A-36 carbon steel and galvanized to withstand corrosion from the ocean waters and rough winds. These pipe supports will be welded to Pipe Shields’ C Model Anchor Plates, which are set in a cast concrete to the bottom cavity of the bridge.

Supports pictured utilize friction holding devices known as MegaLug®, which permit attachment to the pipes without welding. These supports were designed and fabricated to include improvements in regard to strength and durability to withstand high loads during earthquakes and other seismic events.

Variable Springs for a Project in MexicoClose Up of G-can
This Type G variable spring was manufactured for a Petrochemical Plant in Mexico. The Type G assembly is formed by welding two standard spring assemblies to the ends of a pair of channels. This type of assembly can accommodate unusually heavy loads, and is especially convenient for avoiding interference in spaces where headroom is limited.
Each spring assembly is loaded per the client’s specification at Piping Technology and Products manufacturing facilities. A travel stop is inserted and strapped in place to maintain the load for the assembly installation. In addition to banding the travel stops, the variables for this project required chained travel stops. The base style (F-Type) variables on this project were also required to have internal guides.
At Piping Technology and Products, Inc. we use PTP-1, PTP-2, PTP-4, PTP-6 and PTP-8 to designate the five standard coil arrangements to increase the working range of travel of variable supports.
Several types of variable supports were made for this particular project. They included Type A, Type B and Type F.

Pipe Shoes to be Shipped to South AfricaCold Shoes Being Assembled
These pre-insulated pipe supports were manufactured for a Houston based engineering and construction company to complete an on-going project in South Africa. The polyurethane foam insulation is wrapped with a vapor barrier to prevent moisture, and the ends are coated with a monolar mastic paint to seal the pores. The carbon steel fabrication that surrounds the insulation has an elaborate three-coat paint system to help protect the steel from corrosion. This design allows for an integral combination of insulation and structural support in one pipe support assembly. It also minimizes labor in the field in regards to the installation of insulation.

Hot Shoe for a Refining CompanyPT&P Testing the Insulation
This hot shoe was fabricated from carbon steel, calcium silicate and Firetemp®. Firetemp® is the insulation that carries the load of the pipe. In addition, calcium silicate was also used because it has a lower density, making it a better insulator. This shoe is used as a pipe support and can handle temperatures of up to 1,200F. It measures at 73 in diameter with 5 insulation and weighs 2,391lbs. This hot shoe was expedited in one week per customers request.

B-Type Constants for a Power Plant in KentuckyB-Type Constants for a Power Plant in Kentucky
These constants were fabricated from carbon steel hardware and structure. The vertical constants are used to support pipes and other equipment. They range from 4 to 6 feet and weigh between 690 lbs and 2,850 lbs. The constants have a total travel capacity of 7 to 8. Standard load testing was completed to ensure quality and performance.

Snubbers are restraining devices. They allow free thermal movement during normal operations but restrain in abnormal circumstances such as with an earthquake. These snubbers were fabricated from carbon steel. They measure 2 1/2” x 24” and the yoke clamps have pipe sizes of 23” and 25”. Each snubber weighs 890 lb. and has a travel capacity of 24”. Designed for the support of a cryogenic line, these snubbers can handle loads of up to 2,900 lb.

4 Pig Launchers and Receivers for a Petroleum Company
These pig launchers were manufactured from carbon steel. They have a 16 major barrel, 12 minor barrel and measured 121 long. The pig launchers and receivers are used for cleaning piping systems. In addition, the pig launchers and receivers were designed for pressures of 512 PSIG at 100F. Hydro-tests were performed at 666 PSIG, and x-ray tests were completed to ensure quality performance.

U-Type Constants for an Oil Refinery in TaiwanConstants in Assembly
These Figure 200 U-Type horizontal upthrust constants are designed to support piping from below. They are fabricated from carbon steel. These constants were also hot dipped galvanized and then specially painted. In addition, they are able to handle loads of up to 13,600 lbs. Each constant has a capacity of 4 total travel. They range from 55 to 62 long. Load testing and external inspections were completed to ensure the quality of these constants.
