240 Welded Eye Rods for an Ammonia Plant

Piping Technology and Products, Inc. designed and manufactured 240 PT&P Figure 110 welded eye rods for an ammonia plant in Saudi Arabia. The rods will be attached to Type A variable springs designed to support loads from 850 lb. to 13,300 lb. Manufactured from A-36 carbon steel, the rods are 3/4 to 2 in diameter and range in length from 68 to 95. To prevent contamination at high temperatures, a red oxide primer with an alkyd topcoat was applied to the rods as per the customer’s request. Prior to shipment, a 100% dye-penetrant test was performed to ensure quality.

Two 16 Dia. HD-2 Hold Down Clamps for an Oil Refinery

Piping Technology and Products, Inc. recently designed and manufactured two HD-2 hold down clamps to fit a 16 pipe at an oil refinery in Michigan. These hold down clamps are designed to be used on pipe lines where there is a high temperature and great thermal movement requirements. They allow axial movement while restraining lateral movement. The clamp and base plate are fabricated from carbon steel with PTFE, 25% glass filled, bonded to the radius and plate.

90,000 lb. Load Big Ton Springs for a Chemical Plant

Piping Technology and Products, Inc. manufactured four 13,500 lb. Big tons springs for a chemical plant in Texas. These PTP-500 big ton springs have a load capacity of 60,000 to 90,000 lb. are fabricated from A-36 carbon steel. They are designed for 750°F and a downward travel range of 3/16″ to 1/4″. These 37″ x 31″ x 30″ big tons will be used to support certain critical equipment with thermal expansion at the chemical plant. To assure quality, load testing was performed on the big tons prior to shipping.

13,900 lb. Load Pipe Shoes and Bronzphite® Slide Plate

Piping Technology and Products, Inc. recently designed and fabricated more than 75 pipe shoe and Bronzphite® slide plate assemblies for an oil refinery in Texas. Each assembly consists of two pipe clamps, a base plate and a maintenance-free Bronzphite® slide plate. The pipe shoes with sizes ranging from 18 to 24 are fabricated from A387 alloy steel. They are designed for 965°F and 2 of horizontal movement.

The 3 x 3 Bronzphite® (graphite impregnated bronze) slide plates are self-lubricating bearing plates made of a high-quality bronze with graphite-filled grooves. They are designed for heavy loads, low velocity applications, and for situations where the use of oil or grease is undesirable or unfeasible.

950 lb. Load PTP- 6 Type F Variable Springs for an Offshore Oil Rig

Piping Technology and Products, Inc. recently designed and fabricated two 950 lb. load PTP-6 type F size 90 variable springs for an offshore oil rig. These variable springs have an overall height of 33 1/2″ and are designed for a travel range of 4″. Each variable consists of an 8 5/8″ dia. casing, a 13″ square base plate, an 8″ load flange, and three spring coils with a 7 1/2″ working range. All components are fabricated from carbon steel and are hot-dipped galvanized.

230 lb. Double Cable Clamp for an Oil Refinery

Piping Technology and Products recently fabricated a 230 lb. double cable clamp assembly for an oil refinery in Kentucky. This cable clamp assembly, fabricated from 304 stainless steel, consists of a double clamp, a steel support structure, and a base plate. The double cable clamp with an overall dimension of 22 x 12 x 6 is designed for a 2.4 and a 3.8 dia. armored cable.

49,000 lb. Load Constant Springs for a Power Plant

Piping Technology and Products, Inc. custom designed and manufactured four double lug suspension PTP 100-C size 84 constants for a power plant in South Carolina. These constants are designed for a vertical travel range of 5″ and an operating load capacity of 49,000 lb. They are fabricated out of A36 carbon steel and weigh 2,900 lb. each. Prior to shipping standard load and travel tests were performed on these 20″x 35″x 80″ constants to ensure quality.

24,500 lb. Load PTP- 8 Type C Variable Spring Assemblies

Piping Technology and Products, Inc. designed and manufactured four PTP-8 Type-C variable spring assemblies for a power plant in South Carolina. These variable spring assemblies with an average overall length of 87″ are fabricated from carbon steel. Each pipe hanger assembly consists of a variable spring, a rod, a clevis and hex nuts. The springs are designed for operating loads ranging from 22,500 lb. to 24,500 lb. and a total travel of 5″. For quality assurance, the spring coils are inspected and tested individually for proper operation.

12,500 lb. Load Hydraulic Snubber and 24 Alloy Clamp Assembly

Piping Technology and Products, Inc. recently designed and manufactured a PTP Fig. 2100 hydraulic snubber and a clamp assembly for a power plant in California. The hydraulic snubber with a cylinder size of 2 1/2 dia. and a stroke of 5 is designed to support an operating load of 12,500 lbs. The 24 alloy clamp is designed to accommodate a temperature of 1078°F. The entire pipe hanger assembly was hydraulic tested prior to shipping.
